We know, we know – everyone has a “green” smoothy recipe these days that they swear tastes good and is crazy healthy – but we really do! Is it better than candy corn or a chocolate sunday? Oh hell no. But it doesn’t suck at all, so that’s awesome!! Don’t believe us? Welp, the proof is in the smoothie.
Here’s whatcha need:
1 very ripe banana (Like on the verge of turning. This banana is so ripe it might be a Walker soon so hurry up and kill it.)
3/4 cup of fresh kale
1/4 of a ripe avocado
1/2 cup coconut water (you can use plain old water – but the coconut water gives more flavor)
1 cup coconut milk (we like So Delicious which was just reformulated with NO Carregeenan)
1 cup ice
1 tsp vanilla
2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
Here’s whatcha do:
Add coconut water and milk into blender with ice and pulse until ice is mostly blended. Sing “Ice Ice Baby” as needed and then feel shame that you know that song at all. Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth. Serve!
This recipe makes enough for one adult or two kids. You can double and make in one blender – but anything more than that and you’re looking at making it multiple times.
And speaking of looks – as the name implies, this thing is green. REALLY green. So if your small humans are opposed to that color, there is nothing like a brightly colored sippy cup to cover that fact up.
